ACTS - Basic School Introduction
Ephesians 4:11-13 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
We all know these scriptures but why is most of it not happening? People know they should be sharing the Gospel with other people but why don't they do it? The answer is very simple….
They don't know how. The teaching sessions in this course will change all of that. The students will learn under the five specific ministries ordained by God to equip His children with the power and faith to go into all the world and make disciples, starting with the people they see each day.
ACTS: Advanced Christian Training Schools is an outreach ministry of Global Christian Ministries. It is a full Gospel, Video Bible school that provides high quality training and discipleship for leaders and all believers wanting a deeper understanding of God’s Word so they can reach others for Jesus. ACTS is a “helps” ministry and is fully committed to respecting pastoral covering, leadership and authority. We submit all of our materials to local church covering to be used as the Holy Spirit leads. We help ministries start schools; we are only here to help, their Ministries job is to run their own individual school. We do believe ALL believers should be welcomed to participate in the training, regardless of educational background. If Jesus could train unscholarly fishermen, so can we.
The whole objective of ACTS is to provide training and discipleship for leaders and all believers in such a way that it is submitted to the guidance, leadership and discretion of local church leaders and their pastors. As a result, there may be some necessary changes to the curriculum in order for it to accommodate the needs or desires of a local body. We encourage pastors/church leaders to interject their own teaching alongside, or in addition to, the courses that are presented throughout these 3 trimesters of curriculum. The curriculum provided through ACTS is only considered a core by which pastors and leaders can disciple their local body.
To begin we want you to know we provide all 3 trimesters of curriculum totally FREE OF CHARGE. You will not be charged for any materials. All teaching sessions are presented through a DVD format. There are three separate trimesters of curriculum that contain a total of 114 individual teaching sessions. Each teaching session lasts between 45 to 60 minutes. Each teaching session also has a written outline which is found on the information/data disk. These outlines are printable and we recommend the class leader and students all have these outlines to follow as they watch each teaching session.
There are 3 trimesters of curriculum. Each trimester has specific teachings that are addressed in different ways through the various teachers. Trimester 1 as a whole covers the idea of, "Building Faith, Believing." Trimester 2 covers the idea of, "Building Knowledge, Aptitude." Trimester 3 cover the idea of, "Building Wisdom, Application." These three trimesters, while being basic in nature, cover a huge list of subjects that cover everything from the beginning of our life following Jesus to much more advanced subjects like how and why we pray for the sick. Through the use of multiple world known teachers the students will be exposed to some of the best teaching available in the world. Although none of these teachers will ever physically come to your area they are available to you through the use of these DVD's.
The most common facility used is a church, though videos can be viewed in almost any location. A home, large enough to accommodate the class, a business conference room, or even an outdoor patio is entirely acceptable. Schools must have a location with electricity and one that is best for all concerned. It should also be one that will be readily available for the duration of the classes. In some instances, schools can move from one facility to another if they choose. Each school also needs a DVD player and the largest television or projection device possible for the best presentation of the materials. ACTS provides all 3 trimesters of the video curriculum free of charge, we provide everything without any cost to you. Also all session outlines, all required tests, and copies of all other needed materials will be found on each trimester Information/DATA disk.
We prefer if each school is set up with at least four people in leadership. One person would be president/chairman, the next person would be vice president/co-chairman, the next person would be secretary, and the next person would be treasurer. The president and co-president run the classes. If one person cannot be present the other person is there. The secretary basically keeps track of who is attending. At the end of the three trimesters there is a diploma offered. The secretary makes sure all those wanting a diploma actually attends the classes. If a school charges tuition from the students, to cover operating expenses, the treasurer would keep track of any money collected.
In many instances several churches are working together to do a single school. By local churches working together we believe it promotes community spirit and allows others to see the local Christians working together in a spirit of unity. Usually, when several churches work together, they will take turns hosting a specific trimester session in their churches. The main point is to have solid school leadership so the school has a good reputation and the Word of God is taught in a spirit of love and unity.
Typical School Operations
TO BEGIN, you will be only given the 1st trimester of materials. All together there are 3 trimesters but you will only have the first trimester to begin your classes. As you near completion of the first trimester of materials you will need to contact us or the local coordinator for your area so additional curriculum can be sent. If the curriculum is being sent from the United States, remember it can easily take 2 months for it to arrive.
In each of the three trimester sets of curriculum you will have a INFORMATION/DATA disk. When you put your DATA disk in a computer and open the files individually, you will find how many sessions each teacher does and also see all the session outlines that provide written notes that follow all the teaching. Some teachers will teach in more than one trimester. The INFORMATION/DATA disk also has all of the tests for that specific trimester of materials. All the files in the INFORMATION/ATA disk are downloadable and printable.
LENGTH OF COURSE Between the showing of each individual teaching session there should be subject discussions. All 114 teaching sessions will take at least 100 hours plus the time required for the discussion of each session. Going through all three trimesters of the curriculum will depend upon the schedule you use. For example, if you hold 2 classes per week and each class views 2 teaching sessions it will take about 6 months to go through all 3 trimesters of materials.
Tests are set up to cover each individual teacher. For example, if a teacher does 5 sessions, there will be a test just for those 5 sessions. If they only do 2 sessions, there will be a test on just those 2 sessions. If you have the ability to print the tests it is easier for the students. Also, if the students have the financial means, it is really good if they have their own copies of all session outlines. They can later use these outlines as teaching and preaching aids.
You will keep all of your own student records from tests and whatever else information you feel is important. After your students have successfully finished the course of study, you can hold a graduation. We would be happy to supply the diplomas or you may do them yourselves. There are blank copies of a diploma on the INFORMATION/DADA DISK that you can print and fill in your own information. Our goal is to assist you and help each student reach their desired goals in following after the Lord.
I hope this helps with your questions. Let me know about anything else you may have questions about.......... God bless
